1. Do you have backup equipment? Never, ever hire someone without back up cameras, cards, lighting, etc.
2. Are you insured? All members of Professional Photographers of America are insured incase of a photography disaster on your wedding day. If your wedding photographer is NOT a member I would caution you to find one that is.
3. Can we order prints and albums directly from you? Unless you plan on DIY album design and print ordering, make sure you are hiring a full service studio for your wedding needs. This day, hopefully, only happens once!
4. What kind of experience do you have? Ask how many weddings they shoot in a year, sometimes a higher number isn’t always best. You want someone who has a lot of experience, but isn’t overworked and over booked so you get the best they have to offer creatively.
5. Have you ever shot at this venue before? It’s not a deal breaker if they haven’t, but may require an extra visit before the wedding to ensure everything goes smoothly.
