Just spotted . . . downtown Lexington, KY,  seven BFF’s talking about Suzanne Deaton Photography’s  Senior Portrait Experience! According to Blair Waldorf,  “I’m not a stop along the way, I’m a destination.”   The destination for this  “Gossip Girl”senior shoot: Lexington, KY.  In 13 years, this was the biggest senior model shoot I have ever photographed.  The planning was almost as fun as the shoot.   I could have never pulled it off by myself, thank you SENIORS!!!!    They tried on clothes for hours until we got the exact look we wanted for each person.  I love a great collaboration!

We bought, borrowed, and blaire-ed our way through at least 30 different cocktail dresses before deciding to “spread the word”  with the ones below.

Here are some of my favorite Baseball Montage’s from the past couple of years.  All images were shot in my studio and composited in Photoshop CC 2015 using various plug-ins and painting techniques!!!!!  I have a passion for all sports teams!  These boys enter  my studio for a couple of hours and magic happens!!!!!!!

To inquire about how to schedule your team picture call the studio!  606-436-1988.   It’s only $20 per person and they all get a 12×18 team poster.  Commissioned Art Pieces on Metal or canvas are $150-$300.     We have team banners available also.  To be able to have something like this of your own son for this price is just a no-brainer!  My son’s team pictures are all over his bedroom walls.

Cole Ratliff  IS the All-American guy.  He’s smart, athletic, tall, dark, and HANDSOME!  YES, I SAID IT AND I’M 40 (ish) BUT IT’S THE TRUTH.  As the Miranda Lambert song says, “Give me tall, dark and handsome, mix it up with something strong, I feel a sin . . . coming on.”    Ok, her words, not mine.   She must have met Cole somewhere and he inspired her song.

Ratliff Cole frontHis senior pictures have reflected his style . . . debonair, athletic, tasteful, mindful, relaxed, philanthropic . . . you get the picture, a good guy.  Cole will be playing baseball this fall for Transylvania University while studying hard because he wants to become a doctor.  He has a passion helping people, for baseball and football, spending much of his spare time on a field,  in a batting cage or on mission trips in other countries to children in need.  It has been a HUGE honor photographing this young man time and time again.   The future is his.   He makes this pose look effortless.  Of course, he’s been made fun of for being such a good model for me. HA!

When I asked Cole about his favorite High School sports memories he was quick to answer.  He loved winning the region in baseball 2 years ago.   As for football,  the highlight was beating Somerset this year.  Jason Johnson made an awesome catch right in front of me that sent the crowd into an uproar.  What Cole didn’t mention is that he scored the winning touchdown moments later, running through tackles and showing what a BEAST he truly is on the field.  I will never forget it.  Cole’s philosophy on sports is this, “Don’t be out worked.  Get a goal and go for it.  Know that no matter what time of day it is, someone is working to try to get better.  Don’t be out worked by them. Whether it’s in the classroom, in sports, or anywhere.”

Cole spends his spare time with his girlfriend, and loves that they have so much in common, can talk about anything and trust each other.  Here is a link to a session in 2007 of Mahala!  I can’t express the joy it has been to watch these kids grow into such fine young adults.  Here’s a throw back picture from 2012.  Where have the years gone?

Madisyn is SO talented we had a blast incorporating all the things that would make her senior portraits SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!  Along with all her basketball and softball sports memorabilia she brought a HARLEY!  Not to mention a few dresses.  Madisyn spent her childhood and teenage years dominating sports competitively!  Her favorite moment of her senior year was winning the 14th Region Girl’s Basketball Tournament.  Madisyn says, ” If you practice and if you put your all into something then you can accomplish anything you set out to do.”

Madisyn wanted her senior portraits to reflect the culmination of all those years spent in a gym or on a field, plus show off her feminine side!  She got a mix of beautiful sports montages printed on fine art metal AND , soft canvases  to reflect her style . . . feminine, but a little rough around the edges.  🙂   She will be attending Alice Lloyd College in the fall and has decided not to play sports in college.  After all, she wanted to go out on a high note!

Here’s a behind the scenes look at an image that became one of the pictures featured in her sports montage.  Madisyn trusted me completely when shooting her sports pictures.  She gave it her all so we got an authentic look.
