I just got back from KPPA (Kentucky Professional Photographer’s Association) last night and can’t tell you all how excited I am to announce that I was named one of Kentucky’s “Top 10” photographers in the state! The convention was 4 days long and jam packed with classes, fun and catching up with my photographer friends.
Print Competition was all day Friday, and my prints were judged by six judges on: impact, creativity, style, composition, presentation, center of interest, lighting…use and control of lighting, demension of lighting, color balance, technical excellence, technique, and (my favorite) storytelling.
I was pleased to receive 3 new Blue Ribbon of Merit Awards!!!
Fast Forward to the awards banquet on Saturday night…I just about lost my mind when my name was called not once, not twice, but THREE times…
First…for 2nd place in State, Portrait category (out of HUNDREDS!!!!!!!!!!)…Blue Ribbon of Merit Award and receiving an “excellent” rating:
“Loving Arms”…
Awarded a Coat of Honors Award and Blue Ribbon of Merit…
“Coat of Many Colors”…
Awarded the Blue Ribbon of Merit award:
“Precious Cargo”…
I want to thank my family for allowing me to be intensley focused on competition. My competitive nature fuels my desire to provide my clients with beautiful custom portraits…and this allows my clients to see just how dedicated I am to the mastery of this craft!
Meri - Wow,
Congrats! I got your message earlier and i’m very proud. You’re a very gifted artist. Your work is unique and your photos tell a story. I can’t wait to go back and get my boys photos taken again!
BTW, thank you for the wallet photos you sent.
Good luck with nationals! 😀

Dana - Congratulations on being in the top 10 in Ky! It really doesn’t surprise me. I LOVE the baby in the diaper bag. Too cute! Lily Grace had such a good time at your studio and meeting your sweet daughter. I am excited about seeing Lily’s pictures on the 5th.
Mandy Stumbo - Congrats Suzanne!! I’m am super proud of you! I will share the good news with Jaynie–I been telling her she needs to come and do maternity pictures with you!! Hope all is well and I hope to get over your way soon to schedule pictures with my nieces and nephew since we missed pictures at Christmas this year. Again, congrats!!
Kristian - I do have to say that the picture of Merari and Alex is gorgeous! All of the pictures you’ve taken for them (and me!) are always wonderful and I wish you the best of luck! Lots of love!
Jane - Congrats Suzanne! Your portraits keep climbing to higher and higher levels. All three of these are so different but so you and SO creative! You are a great inspiration.
