I met Lauren over a year ago when she bounced into my studio with her beautiful smile and energetic personality. She came to tell me about the details of her wedding, but the conversation quickly became about how she found the love of her life, Kevin.
Kevin had first went on a date with her sister, Chelsi. But, Chelsi knew someone more perfect for Kevin, her sister Lauren. I know, the road to LOVE is a curvy one.
Lauren and Chelsi have BOTH married policemen, Kevin and Scotty. . . At this time, you have the right to remain silent, or you can read on and see how the beautiful day of April 26th, 2015 unfolded.
The Dress: Say Yes to the Dress, Atlanta:
No one can replace your sister and maid of honor on your wedding day. Chelsi took care of her little sister all day.
Seriously Lauren, you are stunning.
Her Bridesmaids, Chelsi, Kendra and Crissie, AND junior bridesmaids, Lindsey, Ella and Lia all celebrated the beautiful bride, Lauren.
And the bridal party isn’t complete without the woman who did it all, Susan. I just can’t say enough about her as a person. She was the wedding planner, coordinator, florist, reception decor designer, light designer, EVERYTHING. She did it all. She decorated the church and the reception AND managed walk out like a Goddess just before the ceremony. Her words, I will never forget, “Don’t you love my girls? Are my girls treating you well?” In the moments before her daughter is getting ready to walk down the isle, she is worried about her guests! I’m not even a guest, I’m the photographer. Susan made it clear to me that I absolutely was a guest and so were my sisters. This wedding was ALL ABOUT THE GUESTS! The hospitality they extended to everyone was unmatched. Thank you, Susan.
Now, let’s meet the groom, Kevin. Pretty handsome, don’t you think?
He probably takes after his handsome Dad.
Actually, this is an entire group of handsome men.
The bride and groom finally get a first look at the person they will spend the rest of their life with.
I love the look of pure joy and excitement on Kevin and Lauren’s face. Above is probably my favorite picture of them together, probably because it’s candid and real.
Getting to witness this blessing was my favorite moment of the day.
Come on in the wedding is about to begin.
Duncan Memorial Chapel was stunning mix of beautiful stone, new and old friends, and arches framing the bride and groom in the perfect setting for an intimate wedding.
Mr. & Mrs. . .
They did it!!!!!!!!!!!!! The ceremony sealed the deal. It’s official. Now, let’s head to the reception. Lauren, her mom and family, worked tirelessly at planning her wedding reception details along with the team at The Olmstead in Louisville, KY to ensure their vision was perfect when guests arrived. I have personally never seen anything like it.
Again, thinking about the guests. . .
The Olmstead provided the perfect place for the first dance. . .
and heartfelt speeches. . .
and priceless moments. . .
Thank you so much for allowing me to capture this day in your life. A special thanks to the Lawson, Thacker and Lockhart families, none of this would have been possible without them. I wish them all lifetime of happiness.
